There are many benefits to you as a patient registering for Online Services. Once you have registered you can book routine GP Appointments and order authorised Repeat Medications. If you also register for the Electronic Prescription Service you can have your prescriptions sent straight to a nominated pharmacy of your choice.
You can access Online Services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, at home or abroad using any digital device that can access the internet.
The telephone lines at East Norwich Medical Partnership are open between 08:00 and 18:00 Monday to Friday. We have 8 incoming lines and at peak times will have 8 staff answering our telephones. We have a call attendant system and you will be asked to select services from a simple menu. At peak times you may be placed in a queue and will be informed of your position in that queue. We will answer your call as soon as we can.

If you require non-emergency medical advice outside of the East Norwich Medical Partnerships opening hours, please call 111.

If you need to see a Nurse or Doctor non urgently whilst we are closed you may choose to attend the Walk in Centre at Rouen House, Rouen Road, Norwich, NR1 1RB.
Norwich Practices Health Centre is operated by Norwich Practices Ltd under a contract with NHS England to provide NHS services. Norwich Practices Ltd is owned and operated by doctors from local GP practices. The company was set up because those local GPs felt they could provide more and better services to patients if they worked together. The Walk in Centre absorbs capacity when practices are closed and when practices have reached capacity.
The nearest car park is Rouen Road car park which is 50 yards away. From Golden Bull Street / Cattle Market Street turn into Rouen Road follow the road 200 yards and then turn right into the Car Park. There is also meter parking close by along Rouen Road and Ber Street. Rouen Road car park has 4 disabled spaces and blue badge concession (buy 1hr and get another 1hr free).
NHS 111 is a new, free, NHS service to help people access urgent local health services when they need them. Calls to NHS 111 from landlines and mobiles are free.

REPEAT MEDICATIONS OUT OF HOURS
Please remember to order your repeat prescription in plenty of time. As of August 2013 anyone who rings NHS 111 directly for routine repeat medications will be referred to a community pharmacy. The Pharmacy may be able to offer an "emergency supply" and you will have to pay (even if you currently receive free prescriptions.
People with communication difficulties or impaired hearing can use NHS 111 via a textphone by calling 18001 NHS 111. Calls are directed to the TextDirect system. A Typetalk relay assistant will join the call and will speak the user's typed converation to the NHS11 health advisor and will also type back the advisor's converation so this can be read on the call's textphone display/computer.
NHS 111 uses a translation service called Language Line for people who do not speak English. Callers who do not speak English should state the language they want to conduct the converation in to use the interpreting service.

A&E (Accident and Emergency) hospital departments should only be used in a critical or life-threatening situation. There are a lot of myths about access to A&E and we have tried to highlight the most common ones below.
"Is A&E always the best place for treatment?"
If you have been suffering from a medical problem for more than 48 hours and your illness is not serious or life-threatening, it is better to seek advice from your GP, calling NHS 111 or visiting your local pharmacist.
A&E should only be used for serious/critical illness, if you are badly injured or have life-threatening conditions - such as;
"You get seen faster at A&E"
Emergencies get seen quickly at A&E. People who attend with illnesses or injuries that are not serious will be seen after more urgent cases have been dealt with.
"Calling 999 for an ambulance gets you to the top of the A&E queue"
You will be assessed and triaged the same way as anyone else. Patients are seen based on medical need, not who gets to the hospital first.
"A&E doctors are more expert at dealing with medical problems than your GP"
Your GP is an expert in general medicine. A&E doctors are specialists in accidents and emergencies.
"You get your prescriptions free at A&E"
If you are not eligible for free prescriptions, you will be charged by the hospital pharmacy if you attend A&E during office hours and need medication. At night and weekends, you will not be charged on the spot but the bill will be sent to you for payment.
"If you go to A&E you get all your tests and treatments sorted in one go"
The doctors working in A&E have expertise with injuries and emergency medical conditions, but they don't always have the specialist experience of your own doctor in the management of general practice conditions.
"All injuries require x-rays so I may as well go straight to A&E"
Not all injuries require an x-ray. Doctors and nurses in general practice have expertise in dealing with and examining minor injuries. During your GP Surgery's opening hours, it is advisable you go there first, as they may be able to deal with your injury without you needing to attend A&E.

East Norwich Medical Partnership has chosen to participate in the provision of an Extended Hours service.
At present we provide an additional 8 hours of appointments per week. This is a combination of booked GP telephone appointments and additional phlebotomy service over the lunchtime period.
Please ask at Reception if you wish to book at Extended Hours appointment.

IMPROVED ACCESS SCHEME
From 3rd September 2018 East Norwich Medical Partnership will be participating in the NHS England funded Improved Access Scheme to provide some additional GP, Nurse Practitioner and Nurse appointments for our patients. For patients at registered East Norwich these appointments will be based at:
