Message from Dr Bastable – After over 30 years at the practice, the time has come for me to hang up my stethoscope.
I might have stayed longer but Covid had other plans for me.
When I started, GPs cared for people throughout their whole life – I would be called to the hospital to deliver babies, I was on call not just in the day but all night as well.
We would even be called if there was a car crash in our area.
The practice is very different to when i first joined with a much larger team all keen to help in their own areas of expertise.
The NHS at large is also very different after all, but the passion amongst all the staff to help whatever the problem is still the same.
Services may have stricter rules about how they can be used and harder to access, but every day I see the team try every way they can to help.
I am sure the practice will continue to serve you with the best service they can – I wish the team well and I wish you well .
